This was such a big drawing that consumed up a lot of time, but it was well worth it. It was such a revolutionary moment for me when I was trying to shade in the shadows and I couldn't quite figure out why it looked perfect up close but so wrong from afar. I later realized that the contrasting colors of white and black next to each other sort of influenced the eyes to see the colors differently from what they truly were. I shaded in the shadows much darker then they should've been, but after taking a step back, the white offset it to be the right tone I was looking for. Still lifes may not be exactly creative, aside from choosing a good composition, but it always helps to exceed my skills and teach me something new.
